We have to cut emissions and live with the climate we've already changed.
Both are about people. Cutting emissions — mitigation — protects everyone, now and in the future, from far worse to come; it's essential, and Weather It is built to honour it. But it works over decades. The heavy lifting belongs to governments and business — and those most exposed are often least able to prepare — so none of this is on you alone.
How it works
Your postcode maps to the risks that matter where you live — flooding, heat, storms, drought, coastal change. Risk in Hull isn't risk in Hampstead.
A renter in a top-floor flat and a family in a house need different things — and so does anyone caring for children, older relatives or someone unwell. We ask, then tailor.
Every step is tagged as a free habit, a one-off job, or an investment — with a clear cost. Start with what's free; build up from there.

It would be odd to talk about climate on a bloated, energy-hungry site. So Weather It is built lean: no tracking, no advertising, no video, no stock photography, no heavy frameworks. Just text, a pair of friendly typefaces, one shared stylesheet, and charts drawn as lightweight vector graphics. Each page weighs a tiny fraction of a typical web page — less data, less energy, lower carbon, and a site that loads instantly even on a poor rural connection.
